Privacy policy

Your resume content

Everything you type into the resume builder, including your name, contact details, and work history, is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is not sent to any server operated by Recto. We cannot see it, back it up, or recover it.

PDF and plain-text exports are created in your browser. The files go straight to your device and are never uploaded.

To delete your resume, clear this site's data in your browser settings (or clear local storage for rectocv.live). Using a private or incognito window means your work is discarded when the window closes.

No accounts

Recto has no sign-up and no login, so we do not collect names, email addresses, or passwords.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and understand which features are used. It records standard information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and a few product events like “resume printed” or “template changed”. These events never include the contents of your resume. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart; see how Google uses data from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or a content blocker, and the builder keeps working normally.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

What we never do

• Store or read your resume content.
• Sell or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
• Use your resume to train AI models.

Children

Recto is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change too. Significant changes will be noted in the changelog.
