Terms

Terms of use

Recto is a free tool. By using it you agree to these plain-language terms. They are short because there is not much to sign up for.

The service

Recto lets you write a resume in your browser and export it as a PDF or plain text. It is free to use for personal and commercial job applications. No account is required.

Your content is yours

You own everything you write. Because your resume is stored only in your browser (see the privacy policy), we never receive it and claim no rights to it. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you put on your resume.

Keeping your work safe

Local storage can be cleared by your browser, by privacy tools, or when you clear site data. We cannot recover lost resumes, so keep a copy of anything important by downloading the PDF or plain-text version.

Acceptable use

Do not use Recto to break the law, to attack or overload the site, or to try to gain unauthorized access to its systems.

Templates and code

Resumes you create with any Recto template are yours to use however you like, without attribution. The Recto source code is released under the MIT License.

No warranty

Recto is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to make templates readable by applicant tracking systems, but we cannot guarantee how any specific employer's software or recruiter will process your resume.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Mayank Singh and Nitin Kumar and Recto are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including lost data or missed opportunities.
